There are two ways to get your Peloton Shoes off the bike. The first way is with a water bottle or a counterweight. And the second way is with a pedal wrench.
I’m going to cover both methods below!
Method 1: Use a Water Bottle or Counterweight to Get Shoes off Bike
This method is pretty simple and can be done if you don’t have a pedal wrench. All you need is a water bottle or counterweight. A water bottle will definitely work, as long as it’s full! But I find that the counterweights are much easier to use.
You can find these at a sporting goods store or Amazon. The ones that I have are from Rogue Fitness. They’re an American company that makes all kinds of cool fitness equipment. So if you don’t want to buy them online, just go to your local sports shop!
To get your shoe off-bike using a counterweight, just set it on top of the left pedal. Drop your right foot so that the weight pushes down on the pedal, and you’ll be good to go!
Method 2: Use a Pedal Wrench to Get Shoes Off Bike
In my opinion, this is the best way to take your shoes off of your bike. It’s easy, and it gives you a lot more leverage than using a water bottle or counterweight. I also found that this method is more comfortable on the back of my leg.
Before taking your Peloton Shoes off of the bike, make sure to get your shoes nice and loose. That way you’ll be able to get them off quickly, and it’ll be much easier on your feet!
I found that the best way to do this was by doing a few circles in each direction. This will loosen up all of the laces, making it much easier for you to get them off.
Now, put your pedal wrench on top of the left pedal. If you don’t have a pedal wrench, you can use a standard wrench or pliers. You just need something that gives you some leverage to push down on the pedal with your feet.
Once the wrench is in place, drop your right foot and pull up on the left pedal. This will loosen the shoe and make it much easier for you to get them off.

All you need is a full water bottle or something that’s heavy enough to push down on the left pedal with your right foot.
