Do Peloton Shoes Come Half Sizes? [How To Pick Right Size]

Do Peloton Shoes Come Half Sizes?

I was recently asked this question by a potential customer. I couldn’t believe it when I first heard it myself, but apparently, some people don’t know that Peloton makes shoes! So, I had to write this blog post to clear things up!

Do Peloton shoes come in half sizes?

According to the company website, they do not. They only come in full sizes, so you need to find a fit that is as close as possible to your foot length.

So what should you do if you are between sizes?

My personal advice would be to size up. You can always make your shoes snugger by adding an insert or two, but if they are too loose, there’s not much you can do.

How To Pick The Right Size Peloton Shoes?

It’s not a super easy task to pick the right size Peloton Shoes because there are a few different things you need to take into consideration.

First of all, your personal preferences. If you have been wearing athletic shoes for years and have grown accustomed to the fit of a particular brand, then stick with that one. In other words… If you know that Asics shoes fit you better than New Balance or Brooks, then stick with the brand.

Secondly, your previous experience with shoe sizing. If you have never run before and never had to buy athletic shoes before, chances are you will need to go up at least ½ size from your regular shoe size. And if this is not your first pair of athletic shoes, then you may even need to go up a full size.

The third thing that you have to take into consideration is the width of your foot. If your feet are considered wide for their length, it’s best to go with a half size bigger than you normally wear for them to fit comfortably.

If your feet are narrow in proportion to their length, then you will have no problem using the same shoe size that you normally wear.

Peloton Men’s Shoes Fit Issues – How To Deal With It?

Every once in a while, someone buys an online shoe that does not fit. What should they do with it?  There is no easy answer.  If you bought your shoes on Amazon, then read the return policy. Usually, there is a window of 30 days to return an item for any reason whatsoever.

If you bought your shoes elsewhere online and they do not fit, then your best bet is to contact the seller directly. Most of them have very liberal policies when it comes to returns.

Now, if you bought your shoes at a store or Peloton studio, take them back and ask for another size.  The salesperson or manager will most likely exchange them for you unless there are none in stock.

If you are still having any issues with the shoe’s fit, then contact Peloton. Their customer support is very good for this kind of problem. They are really attentive and will make it right.

Of course, if your shoes came with the wrong size printed on the box or your receipt, then contact Peloton. They will be able to help you out without any problem.

What Do You Need To Know About The Soles Of Peloton Shoes?

Most of the models that I see in the studio have a flex groove. This is an extra groove that runs across the sole of your shoe and can be seen when you look at it from the side.

According to my Peloton consultant, this particular design is meant to enhance your performance on the bike, but I am not 100% sure how it works in this regard.

What I can tell you is that this extra groove does not bother me when I am working out. However, if you are very picky about the way your shoes look, then take note of this design detail.

It’s also worth noting that the sole of Peloton shoes tends to be a bit thicker than other athletic shoes. This gives you a better grip on the bike pedals, but it also means that your feet will feel a bit more snug.

How Do Peloton Shoes Hold Up Over Time?

Treadwear – if you use your Peloton shoes up to 4 or 5 times a week for at least 13 weeks out of the year, then they will have no problem lasting the whole year.

The upper of the shoe will show wear and tear after a long time, but this is true for most athletic shoes. The only exception I have seen so far is a pair of sneakers that belonged to a very heavy user who was doing up to 3 workouts per day 7 days a week. In this case, the upper ripped slightly near the toes, but it was still usable.

The sole of the shoe is another story. This part tends to wear out much faster, especially if the user does not tighten up their shoes properly before each workout. As I mentioned above, this happens mainly because Peloton instructors tend to stretch their legs very far forward on the bike pedals.

If you do this regularly, then you should expect to have to replace your shoes every 6 months. The good news is that you can usually get them from Peloton for half the price of retail.

Conclusion – Peloton Shoes Are Awesome!

Keep in mind that living a healthy lifestyle means you have to take care of your body, and this includes the quality of shoes you wear. I used Peloton shoes for an entire year and they passed with flying colors. If you are not sure about the right size or if they will hold up over time, then you can always ask their customer support for help.
